Ikebana
In Nihongo class, Mr. Roy from MOA Art came to teach us the art of Ikebana or flower arranging. We learned to look at the flower to appreciate its beauty and to look around at nature when we go anywhere, instead of just rushing by. Students put together pretty boxes and then selected flowers that called to them and carefully and swiftly cut the ends and placed the flower, fern, and baby's breath into the oasis. Mr. Roy told the children to find the flower's smile and smile back at it. Students took their ikebana to our grandparents tea and gave them to their families. Boys and girls, you worked well and created unique and beautiful arrangements!
